Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is a collaborative journey where together, we explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors within a safe, confidential space. My approach is centered on understanding your unique experiences and challenges, supporting you in gaining insights, developing effective coping strategies, and achieving personal growth. Whether you're navigating specific issues such as an eating disorder or anxiety or aiming for broader self-improvement, therapy provides a nurturing environment for reflection, healing, and empowerment on your path to greater well-being and fulfillment.
In my practice, I integrate evidence-based interventions like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to provide targeted support. ACT encourages acceptance of thoughts and emotions while aligning actions with personal values, fostering meaningful change. DBT equips clients with skills to manage emotions, enhance relationships, and cultivate resilience. CBT focuses on identifying and transforming negative thought patterns to promote healthier behaviors and emotions. By blending these approaches, I empower clients to cultivate personal growth, refine coping strategies, and improve overall well-being within a supportive, collaborative therapeutic setting.
Something specific about me is I LOVE learning and expanding my therapeutic toolkit through ongoing training in evidence based practices such as Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). These additional theories enrich my ability to tailor treatment to the specific needs of each client, ensuring that I deliver comprehensive and effective support. Staying current with the latest research and therapeutic innovations allows me to continually enhance the quality of care and help clients achieve their therapeutic goals more effectively.
Lastly, my goal is to create a therapeutic experience centered on our relationship, where you feel deeply seen, heard, and valued. Building a trusting and empathetic connection is essential in our work together, fostering an environment where you can openly explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment. I strive to provide a space where your experiences and concerns are genuinely understood and respected, empowering you to make meaningful progress towards your personal goals and overall well-being.

Therapy for Anxiety
Anxiety can feel like your brain is constantly running thinking through all of the “what ifs” and “buts”. Anxiety hijacks your brain, making you believe stuff that you know doesn't add up, yet it feels totally legit in the moment. It can cause someone to feel isolated, overwhelmed, and distant. When anxiety hits, it's like your brain's wired reaction kicking into high gear over time. Your brain's job is to keep you safe, even if it means putting other things on hold just to survive. But here's the silver lining: Getting to know your anxiety, recognizing it for what it is, and understanding where it comes from and why it's there can help you take back control. It's all about finding ways to enjoy life without that constant worry dragging you down. Overall, therapy can help individuals with anxiety by providing tools to manage symptoms, identifying triggers, and fostering healthier coping strategies.
Therapy for OCD and Scrupulosity
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition characterized by intrusive, repetitive thoughts (obsessions) and behaviors (compulsions) aimed at reducing anxiety. These compulsions are often time-consuming and can interfere significantly with daily life and relationships. This is an area that I am extremely passionate about treating especially scrupulosity which is characterized by obsessive concern with religious or moral issues. People with scrupulosity often experience excessive guilt, anxiety, and fear of committing sin or moral wrongdoing, which can significantly impact their daily lives and mental well-being.
Sometimes individuals do not have scrupulosity but experience intrusive thoughts which are unwanted worrisome thoughts that pop into one’s mind that are persistent and challenging to control, causing significant anxiety, guilt, or discomfort. They may vary widely in content, from fears of harm to oneself or others, to taboo or socially unacceptable ideas as listed below:
Violent or Aggressive Thoughts: These include thoughts of harming oneself or others, which can be particularly distressing due to their taboo nature.
Sexual Thoughts: Intrusive sexual thoughts may involve inappropriate or unwanted sexual imagery, which can cause significant shame and anxiety.
Religious or Blasphemous Thoughts: These involve thoughts that go against religious or moral beliefs, such as questioning one's faith or engaging in blasphemous acts.
Health-Related Thoughts: These thoughts often revolve around fears of illness, contamination, or hypochondriasis, leading to excessive worry about health issues.
Relationship-Related Thoughts: These include fears of harming loved ones or doubts about the authenticity of relationships, leading to anxiety and guilt.
Symmetry or Orderliness Thoughts: These thoughts involve an obsessive need for things to be arranged in a particular way or a fear of disorder or chaos.
Forbidden or Taboo Thoughts: These encompass thoughts about socially unacceptable behaviors or desires, which can provoke intense shame or guilt.
Therapy for Trauma
Trauma counseling is a specialized form of therapy aimed at helping individuals process and heal from experiences that have deeply impacted their emotional and psychological well-being. Whether stemming from a single event or prolonged exposure to distressing situations, trauma can show up in various ways, such as flashbacks, nightmares, or intense emotional reactions. As a trauma-informed counselor, I help individuals recover from the emotional and psychological impact of traumatic experiences while developing healthy coping mechanisms. While I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma, I take an integrative approach to trauma work where together we assess what you need most and regain a sense of control over their lives.
Therapy for Life Transitions
Change is inevitable and consistent throughout life.
Therapy during life transitions offers invaluable support by providing a safe space to explore emotions, clarify goals, and develop effective coping mechanisms. I can support as you navigate the uncertainties and challenges of transitions such as career changes, relationship shifts, or moving to a new phase of life such a parenthood, fostering resilience and personal growth. Through therapy, individuals gain insights and skills that empower them to adapt more confidently to new circumstances and embrace positive change.
